Kāpō Māori Aotearoa (KMA) is recruiting people who can work:

  • In an organization that is governed and operates in accordance to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, matauranga me ngā tikanga Māori and encourages the learning and application of Te Reo Māori in day-to-day work activities.

  • With tangata kāpō Māori, tangata whaikaha Māori, and their whanau living in the Northland and Auckland regions specifically, and as and when required, other regions in Aotearoa generally.

  • With the KMA Deputy Chief Executive Officer and operations team to support tangata kāpō Māori, tangata whaikaha Māori, and their whānau to access the community supports and government services they need to achieve their personal aspirations.

 

About the Role:

  • Employment type:  Permanent Part-time.

  • Salary Range:  $45,0000-$55,000 per annum pro rata.

  • Hours per week:  35.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide disability information and advice support that increases KMA members, tangata whaikaha Māori service users, and their whānau confidence, self-advocacy and informed decision-making competencies.

  • Support KMA members, tangata whaikaha Māori service users, and their whānau to access and engage in Blind Low Vision NZ (BLVNZ) vision rehabilitation services.

  • Complete updates and reports in accordance with KMA constitutional member, and tangata whaikaha Māori service user policies and procedures.

 

Knowledge, skills and attributes include:

 Essential:

  • Personal health and/or medical conditions do not limit ability to perform role and responsibilities.

  • A NZ citizen or resident or have a valid NZ work visa.

  • No criminal convictions.

  • Able to travel independently and as and when required.

  •   Proven planning skills.

  •   IT literate, specifically in using Apple technology.

Desired:

  • Full and current Driver’s License.
